Never be the Same

“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to.”
― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

I miss you, Dad. 😦

“…wounds to the flesh hurt but they heal fast. Wounds to the soul never go away. It’s how we cope with a pain that never dies that makes us the people we are.” – Kristen Ashley, Golden Trail

Dad,

37 years ago you and Mom made one of the best decisions in your lives – marrying each other. Thank you, you two, for being such wonderful parents.

We surely miss you a lot today.

All the love. Forever and ever.

PJs

(Photo and Text: May 2, 2014)

(Technically) my last night here in Dubai. Wore this pair of special PJs. This pair was the last pieces of clothing Dad wore when he was still with us. For three years now, they remain unwashed. I get to keep the bottom piece; Sissy keeps the top.

Dad,

Wearing the special pajama set was like being enveloped again in your arms. I miss you so, so dearly.

In Spirit

Mom and I.

Mom and I.

Dad,

Mom, thePies, and I are currently here in Dubai visiting my siblings. You would’ve enjoyed and loved this place. I fervently wish that you’re physically with us in this journey, experiencing God’s manifestation of love and awesomeness. But we know your spirit is with us – laughing at our crazy antics and bursting with joy and pride and love.

But still…

I love you, Dad.

Valentine’s 2014

My beautiful butterfly angel.

My beautiful butterfly angel.

(4AM. 02/14/14) Just finished work and went to the bathroom to get ready for bed. When I opened the door this beautiful angel landed on my shoulder (alas, I wasn’t holding my phone). After the brief touch, the butterfly “guarded” the room (hence, the pic). Dad used to wait for me to finish work and remind to get some sleep. So I told my beautiful butterfly angel (my usual reply to him), “Patulog na, dad. [Going to bed now, dad] Love you.”

Dad,

Happy Valentine’s Day!

LOVE YOU LOADS!
